Francis Coppola Diamond Series Claret
The Francis Coppola Diamond Series Claret is a contemporary wine inspired by a tradition that symbolizes the union of the two most celebrated periods in the history of the Estate. The current Diamond Series Claret is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec. The blend of these varieties creates a wine of defined character that speaks more to a style of wine than an individual variety. Though heavily based with dense, briary Cabernet Sauvignon, the Merlot increases berry flavors and the Cabernet Franc heightens aromatics and adds a note of spice. The resulting wine evokes a softer character and a more approachable, drinkable style of Cabernet.

Tasting Notes:
As a traditional Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the 2000 Francis Coppola Diamond Series Black Label Claret is a wine of defined personality that speaks more to a style of wine than an individual varietal. This vintage has a deep, dark and luxurious blue-purple color. The Claret has expressive aromatics of toasty vanilla with essences of sweet blackberries and spicy black pepper, followed by rich flavors of blueberry, clove and mint. The wine concludes with a supple yet structured finish that is drinkable now or may be cellared for the next three to five years.

Francis Coppola Diamond Series Merlot
The Francis Coppola Diamond Series Merlot is made to be generous and opulent as one would expect from this variety. Merlot has traditionally been used to blend softness and richness into Cabernet blends but now has become one of the most popular red wines of California. Though predominantly Merlot, a small amount of Syrah has been added to increase its personality and to lift the aromatics. The resulting blend is extremely inviting with great richness and interest, demonstrating why the Merlot varietal has become so popular and appreciated.

Tasting Notes:
Aromas of berries and blackberry pie from the fruit stand out in the nose that integrate with the stylish toasty quality from the oak. On the palate, the identifiable raspberry and dense blue; jammy fruit flavors combine with the wine's elegant structure to support the stylish and lengthy finish.

Francis Coppola Diamond Series Chardonnay
The Francis Coppola Diamond Series wines are made from grapes grown in California’s coastal and inland valleys. Rich and ripe, these wines represent the individual flavors of the varietals accentuated by lengthy barrel aging for added complexity and style.

Tasting Notes:
Aromas of crisp pear and fresh melon are packed into this Chardonnay between rich tropical flavors of pineapple and guava. Hints of citrus and spice round out the palate, followed by sweet crème brûlée and vanilla from the French oak barrel aging. The finish is pleasing and crisp with an essence of citrus.

Stellenbosch Welmoed Cabernet Sauvignon 2000
A fine quality elegant red wine. It has a rich pleasing aroma of black currant enhanced by the vanilla of new oak. Intensely flavored with rich berry fruits and gently oak touches. This is a wine for entertaining friends. Makes a great match with meat dishes.

Simonsvlei Cabernet/Merlot 2001
55% Cabernet Sauvignon 45% Merlot. A medium bodied blend ina a light style. Mulberry, mineral and herb flavors on the nose. The Cabernet Sauvignon is rounded by the softer Merlot. Excellent balance of fruit and wood. Enjoy with checken, pastas and red meat dishes. Great on it own.

Simonsvlei Chardonnay 2001
An elegant white wine with flavors of frssh lemons, limes, ripe reaches and apricots on the palate.

Simonsvlei Premier Buketraube
A velvety Smooth white wine ideal for semi-sweet wine lovers. Lovely Muscat and pear flavors dominate on the nose and palate. Enjoy with Spicy dishes like curry, also great with smoked meats. To end a great evening or lunch, try it with ice cream.
